Friends Winter Tour to Florence
Early December 2025
Expressions of interest are now being sought for our winter tour to Florence in early December 2025.
Florence may be an unusual choice for a winter tour - although much less frenetic than in the summer!. The main attraction in 2025, however, is "Angelico", a breathtaking exhibition of the work of the early Italian Renaissance painter, Fra Angelico, at the Palazzo Strozzi. This is a true ‘blockbuster’ exhibition!
The Friends tour will also include a walk through the newly restored Vasari Corridor, the renowned elevated enclosed passageway, nearly half a mile long, which enabled the Medici’s dukes and their entourages to commute without mixing with the rest of the populace.
Once again, our tour will be led by the excellent Nirvana Romell
The exact dates of the tour are being finalised but we are looking at a 4 or 5 day itinerary between 4th and 10th December. With no direct flights at that time of year, we will be flying either Swiss Air or Lufthansa from Manchester via Zurich, Munich or Frankfurt to Florence’s local airport.
An in-depth and fully costed itinerary will be available for the first week in May and this will be sent to those who express an interest in the tour by contacting Mike Tierney at [email protected] by Tuesday 22nd April.
