Opening on 5 December 2026 the Whitworth Art Gallery presents a  major new exhibition exploring the radical and enduring legacy of the 19th century designer, writer and activist William Morris. The exhibition explores Morris’s belief that beauty, equality and the natural world were the essential foundations for a just society through more than 100 works – including textiles, wallpapers, ceramics, stained glass, books and personal artefacts.

This is your opportunity to visit the studios and see at first hand the work involved in mounting the exhibition. 

As this event is very likely to be oversubscribed early booking is recommended.

We will assemble in the main foyer of the Gallery just before 11am on Tuesday 22 September.

Places are limited to 30 and we will be split into two groups , each of 15 people before being led around the stores and studio by Dan Hogger and Zoe Lanceley.
