Yaxin Fang harp
Yaxin is a harpist currently in her third year of undergraduate studies at Royal Northern College of Music, studying with Anne-Marie O'Farrell. She was born in 2002 in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, a city located in central China.
In China, Yaxin studied harp under Zishan Xu from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music and Zhuyan Liu from the Henan Symphony OrchestraDuring. During this time, she won several awards, including First Prize in the Harp Youth Group of the Beijing Area and Second Prize in the China Area in 2021. In 2020 she was awarded First Prize in the Singapore International Music Festival-Western Music Competition, and Second Prizes in both the 6th International Music Festival of Melbourne and the China Youth Music Competition Hummingbird Music Awards. In May 2022, Yaxin performed Handel's Harp Concerto in B flat major with the Sias Philharmonic Orchestra.
During her studies at the RNCM, Yaxin has participated in several performances, including the Wind Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, and Taraneh Orchestra. She performed with the RNCM Harp Department at the Manchester Harp Festival, Edinburgh Harp Festival and annually at the Salvi Showroom in London. In June 2025, she performed a solo concert at Manchester Cathedral.
Kimberly Wong harp
Kimberly is a Singaporean harpist currently in her final year of her Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) under the tutelage of Dr Anne-Marie O’Farrell. She is a versatile harpist, appearing as a soloist, ensemble member, orchestral player and session musician.
Kimberly has performed at reputable venues such as the Esplanade Concert Hall, Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage, Gardens By the Bay and The Bridgewater Hall. Her highlights include a solo pre-concert programme for the BBC Philharmonic, taking part of numerous orchestral projects both in and out of the RNCM, and being featured as one of the soloists for the premiere of Sina Saloor’s Concerto for Trio and Orchestra, Between Two Explosions: Second Explosion: “Commit Flight to Memory for the Bird is Mortal”.
Kimberly loves to share the harp with the community around her, especially to children, and has recently played for assemblies and conducted harp taster sessions at two primary schools. She helps out in the Young Harps sessions at RNCM and has been involved in working with young people on multiple projects and concerts. These include the RNCM ENGAGE Showcase, Explore@RNCM and RNCM Children’s Opera Projects.
