Yaxin Fang harp
Yaxin is a harpist currently in her third year of undergraduate studies at Royal Northern College of Music, studying with Anne-Marie O'Farrell. She was born in 2002 in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, a city located in central China.
In China, Yaxin studied harp under Zishan Xu from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music and Zhuyan Liu from the Henan Symphony Orchestra. During this time, she won several awards, including First Prize in the Harp Youth Group of the Beijing Area and Second Prize in the China Area in 2021. In 2020 she was awarded First Prize in the Singapore International Music Festival-Western Music Competition, and Second Prizes in both the 6th International Music Festival of Melbourne and the China Youth Music Competition Hummingbird Music Awards. In May 2022, Yaxin performed Handel's Harp Concerto in B flat major with the Sias Philharmonic Orchestra.
During her studies at the RNCM, Yaxin has participated in several performances, including the Wind Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, and Taraneh Orchestra. She performed with the RNCM Harp Department at the Manchester Harp Festival, Edinburgh Harp Festival and annually at the Salvi Showroom in London. In June 2025, she performed a solo concert at Manchester Cathedral.
Ana Nadais harp
Ana is a Portuguese harpist, based in Manchester, where she just started her first year of a Master’s degree in Music Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music, with Dr Anne-Marie O’Farrell.
She studied with Ana Paula Miranda during her formative years, and graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2023, receiving a Bachelor degree in Music Performance, having Pippa Tunnel, Sharron Griffiths, and En Hudson as her teachers. Ana has had the chance to work with several prestigious harpists along the years, such as Irina Zing, Karen Vaught, Anais Gaudemard, Claire Jones, Genevieve Letang, Erick G Hendriks, Petra Van Der Heide, Marie Leenhardt, among others.
As a lover of chamber music, Ana and her colleague Zuzanna Wasiewicz formed a harp duet (Harpe Diem), which they continue to invest in with the determination of building a powerful option for their future. They were awarded with Fourth Prize on the Chamber Music Category at OPUS International Music Competition, and Second Prize on the Ensembles Category at Nouvelles Etoiles (Concours International de Jeunes Musiciens de Talent).
Ana’s most recent project has been the creation and management of a concert series in Manchester, called Between Notes, which runs monthly afternoon concerts by young professional musicians.
