Rochdale Town Hall is widely regarded as one of the UK’s finest examples of Victorian gothic architecture. The Grade-I listed building was designed by William Crossland and opened in 1871 as a symbol of the town’s industrial standing in the textiles trade.
Programme:
Arrival: approx. 10.30am
Town Hall Tour: 11.00 and 11.30am
As each tour is limited to 15, there will be two tours, one at 11.00 and one at 11.30.
The fascinating tour of Rochdale Town Hall, described as 'one of the most historically significant buildings in the country' is by one of their very knowledgeable volunteer guides.
Lunch – 1.00pm - The Martlet Kitchen Restaurant
Lunch, served in our own room, will be a mixed vegetable soup with a variety platter of sandwiches with vegetarian choices. If you would like to share a vegetarian platter, please choose the vegetarian option when booking. Please email if you need a GF or other special meal.
The restaurant has excellent reviews. During lunch we will have a special Christmas quiz.
Free time 2.45-3.15pm - explore the Town Hall and shop
