Genesis Trombones:
Freddie Hughes, Toby Marshall, Oliver Webb and Asa Riley
Comprised of students from the Royal Northern College of Music, Genesis Trombones are an energetic quartet based in Manchester. Formed in 2021, Genesis Trombones have established themselves as a serious chamber group with a diverse performance portfolio. They have worked side-by-side with leading trombonists such as Marshall Gilkes and Peter Steiner, performed in guest chamber recitals, both in well-established classical music festivals and concert societies, and competed in prestigious competitions such as the esteemed British Trombone Society Trombone Quartet Competition, in which the group placed second.
Genesis also prides themselves on performing an eclectic range of repertoire, from classical to jazz to contemporary. Their ambition is to continue to explore a wide range of repertoire and to showcase to audiences the versatility and virtuosity a trombone quartet is capable of.

THE WHITWORTH: RNCM ON THE ROAD will take place in Gallery 3 of The Whitworth on SUNDAY 27 OCTOBER 2024 3pm till 3.45pm
Future Concerts:
November 17th: Sakura Drops Duo (Euphonium and percussion)
December 8th: Tom Chapman (Guitar)
These concerts have been sponsored by the daughter of Bertram and Lorre Gilbert in their memory. They used to be Friends of the Whitworth and both loved music. They were also great supporters of education for young people.
