For our Autumn 2024 trip, we are heading across the Irish Sea to Ireland’s vibrant and atmospheric capital, Dublin. From elegant Georgian squares to a world-renowned university and library, an historic gaol and superb art galleries to quaint cottages and atmospheric country churches, our new tour offers a wonderful variety of sights. As ever, our travelling companion, guide and host will be Jane Brand, who knows Dublin very well. She will lead the tour with her usual knowledge, competence and enthusiasm.
Itinerary Day 1 Thursday 10th October 2024 Fly from Manchester to Dublin. Coach to meet group at airport and transfer to the city centre to visit the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), nestled in the 48 acre site of the former Royal Hospital Kilmainham. It houses an excellent collection of modern and contemporary art as well as a café, gardens and a shop. Nearby, the Kilmainham Gaol is a journey through Irish history, having housed ordinary criminals as well as those who fought for Irish independence. Continue to the hotel for check in for four night stay. Welcome drink, dinner and over night.
