Duo Aerius

Duo Aerius recently formed at the Royal Northern College of Music, where they both are currently studying a Masters degree. They initially met when violinist, Christopher, was looking for a guitarist to teach him to play the mandolin for an upcoming project at the RNCM. Guitarist, Chris, offered to teach him and, having got on very well, the two both expressed their interest in forming a duo.

Duo Aerius recently gave their first performance at Forsyths Music Shop in Manchester where they premiered Chris Godhard’s arrangement of The Lark Ascending, which was well received by the audience in attendance. Other pieces the duo plan to arrange include Ashokan Farewell and Carlos Gardel’s, Por Una Cabenza, well known for its appearance in ‘Scent Of A Woman’ arranged by John Williams. 

Upcoming performances include a lunchtime recital at St Ann's Church in Manchester as well the prestigious Elias Chamber Music Prize at the RNCM. The duo is now expanding their repertoire with new arrangements for violin and guitar and are excited to see where the next few years will take them.
