Mallet Square is a percussion duo founded in 2022 by Harriet Kwong and Jason Wong and achieved a big success at their debut Spotlight concert at the Royal Northern College of Music in December 2022. Mallet Square is constantly expanding their percussion duo repertoire and reaching out to perform in different venues.
In addition to their involvement in the duo, Harriet and Jason are keen on solo and chamber playing.
Harriet was the first runner-up at the Southern Percussion International Tuned Competition 2021 (Category A). She also had opportunities to work with Opera North and Psappha ensemble, and to perform with them in February 2023.
Jason recently won the RNCM Concerto Competition and the first prize in the Croatian International Percussion Competition Rhythm-O-Phonia. He has also had masterclasses and has collaborated with a lot of international renowned soloists, such as Momoko Kamiya, Colin Currie, Eric Sammut, the Ju Percussion Group and the Percussions Claviers de Lyon.
