Ensemble Cosmopolitan.
Made up of Hong Kongese flautist Lok-yin Hui, British oboist Jessica Vinson, Korean clarinettist Michael Choi, German/Swedish hornist Robert Mehlig, and Swiss bassoonist Leonardo Bizzotto, the group's name reflects the international nature of its membership. Under the guidance of Laura Jellicoe and Stefano Canuti, the group has performed in various concerts, masterclasses, and competitions since its formation in 2018. Notably, the group performed in a masterclass presented by the Haffner Wind Ensemble and was recently awarded the Fewkes Woodwind Chamber Music Prize. Also, Ensemble Cosmopolitan has been invited to join ChoiMan Company as their artist. Ensemble Cosmopolitan is delighted and grateful to receive the generous support of June Emerson Wind Music through their Launchpad Prize.

8th March: Belspa Ensemble
Belspa Ensemble is an international and versatile duo consisting of Belgian harpist, Eva Maeyaert and Spanish-born flautist, Angel ParejaFrancisco. They venture into a range of repertoire with upcoming performances in and around Manchester.
29th March: Paramount Brass
Founded in 2019, Paramount Brass is a new, dynamic trombone quartet formed of students studying at the Royal Northern College of Music. Following their recent establishment the group has continued to flourish and create their own distinct style, with regular rehearsals and coaching from RNCM tutor Roger Cutts culminating in a performance at the British Trombone Society Youth Day in Bridgend. The quartet looks forward to continuing their development into a professional, innovative brass chamber group.
This concert series is funded by the generous bequest left to the Friends of The Whitworth by Gina Miller.
