Chameleon Quartet: Cara Houghton flute, piccolo, alto flute
Freya Chambers soprano and alto saxophone, clarinet, flute
Jessica Tomlinson clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone
Eleanor Mills bassoon, baritone saxophone, clarinet.
Chameleon is a multi-instrumental, award-winning, woodwind quartet that was formed at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2016. All members double on at least one other instrument, meaning the group has a unique sound and set-up and the musicians often change instruments mid-piece. They are passionate about creating innovative music and are proud to arrange all their repertoire themselves.
They are Live Music Now artists and June Emerson Launchpad prize winners. They have won several competitions including the Trevor Wye Woodwind Competition (2017) and Brodsky Prize (2018) and were awarded the audience prize and highly commended for the Chris Rowland Chamber Music Prize (2017).
