Calla Flutes:

Calla Flutes are a vibrant flute quartet made up of students from the RNCM. They made a strong impression since forming, giving a fantastic performance at the annual chamber music competition last year for which they were highly commended. They went on to represent the school in a public spotlight concert, commissioning a new piece with electronics. They are dedicated to great music making through the combination of four flutes - and have delighted audiences in and around Manchester. Individually the Calla flutes are very fine flute players, having numerous personal accolades and having played in top venues across the UK and Europe.

The concert will take place in Gallery 3 of The Whitworth from 3pm until 3.45pm.
This concert series is funded by the generous bequest left to the Friends of the Whitworth by Gina Miller.

Sunday 24 March 2019: Paula O’Malley and Andrew Broome– Marimba and Clarinet duo will be performing Daughtrey’s Strange Dreams among other works.
Sunday 14 April 2019: Brass Quartet Menine. This is part of their Easter tour.
