Painting watercolours in the Art Garden
Thursday 12 July 2018
Juliet is a painter and art teacher who specialises in water-based media, and who has taught in schools in the south Manchester area, as well as round her kitchen table, for many years. She will lead this afternoon's painting session, which will begin with an informal discussion about colour, composition and techniques in the Clore studio (which will be our base for the afternoon), followed by outdoor painting (weather permitting) in the art garden. If the weather is poor, we will simply work from the views from the gallery windows!
Further Details:
Cost per person: £15.00
Booking has now closed for this event.
You do not need to be an experienced painter to take part but you will need to bring some art materials with you. Juliet suggests:
A pad of 140lb (not watercolour) paper, at least 16" x 12", or paper and a drawing board.
Watercolour paints & brushes and/or watercolour pencils
Masking fluid, for reserving highlights, can be useful, if you like using it.
Easels will be provided but please bring a small stool
If you want to spend time drawing in the garden, rather than painting, you would be very welcome and Juliet would be pleased to offer advice and encouragement to those who just bring themselves, their pencils or pens and their sketchbooks!
