The Friends of the Whitworth has a tremendous and enviable record of fund-raising, having assisted in the purchase of over a thousand works of art across all areas, and raising over a quarter of a million pounds towards the design and build of the new Whitworth facilities just a few years ago.
Our role as fund-raisers continues, and is now even more important as the Whitworth faces a considerable financial challenge in the aftermath of the Covid 19 pandemic. We expect to be increasingly called upon by the Gallery to support not only the purchase of works of art but to help in areas which might previously have been financed in other ways. We will be working closely with the Gallery team to identify which areas we should support and what should be our next target.
To help in the work of the Friends, we welcome donations large and small, either as a one-off amount; via online shopping; or as smaller regular payments.
Direct Donation from a credit/debit card
We have a method of donating directly from this website via EasyFundRaising.org.uk. You need to click on our cause page, which is https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/friendsofwhitworthartgallery/ and follow instructions to donate any amount, starting from £1, via a credit or debit card.

They do the rest - Simples!
They have over 4000 well known shops and sites including:- Trainline; Marks & Spencer; Hobbs; Argos; BT; John Lewis and many more.
To download the app, visit:-

You can find our easyfundraising page at:-
just copy and paste into your browser.
Once again, the funds donated to us come from the shop/site you purchase from, not from your wallet, so happy shopping!
New Members
Another way of increasing our funds would be to increase our membership. You can help by asking a friend or colleague to consider becoming a Friend. Why not bring someone along to the gallery as a starting point, maybe have a coffee, look in the Gallery shop?
For further help, you can always contact us via the Friends e-mail address [email protected] and we will be very pleased to hear from you.
