Prima Wind Quintet was originally formed in September 2014 and has been performing in the current line-up since February 2016, with 3 founding members. The individual performers came from various parts of the country to the Royal Northern College of Music to study. Chamber music is a big part of life at the RNCM which inspired the musicians to come together to create more music. The group has performed as part of the RNCM Alumni concert in June 2016 and was in the final of the Trevor Wye Chamber Music Competition. They have as well performed in a master-class for the Berlin Phil Wind Quintet, won The Art of Chamber Competition in November 2016 and recently performed at the 50th anniversary gala concert for Manchester International Society.
Prima Wind Quintet enjoys playing many different genres of music such as classical, jazz and contemporary.
*Special thanks to Rory Purvis who replaces Ellen Tiso for this performance.
